Mini smokehouse from a freon cylinder
I wanted to use a freon cylinder lying idle. All kinds of lamps and urns are not needed. So I decided to implement an idea that I had been thinking about. I decided to assemble a smokehouse. You can smoke both meat and fish. The cylinder does not take up much space. Its price at any service station is around 100 rubles.
The main component will of course be the balloon. You need to mark a line for the cut. The marker is not very convenient, the legs are crooked. I achieved a good result using masking tape. I unscrewed the tap in advance; I don’t recommend sawing it off with the tap closed.
I used a pallet as a cutting table. I screwed a couple of boards to it so that the cylinder would not roll around. Safety glasses must be used.
We saw off with a grinder along the line of the tape. It turns out that there are two halves.
I first wash both halves, then burn them on fire. For reliable fixation, you need to make a side. I will make the side from a strip of tin. I will cut a strip from a profile for drywall.
I will fasten the resulting strip with M4 screws. Secure with nuts. I make markings on the lid and drill holes. I duplicate the holes on a strip of tin.
I install all the screws. I decided not to install Grover, to save money.
The lid is securely fixed at the bottom of the cylinder. For ease of alignment, I drew a line with a marker.
I install an M8 pin in the hole from the tap. I fix it with washers and nuts.
I almost forgot. I hung the sausages on stainless steel hooks. I attach the hooks to a strip of steel, taken from an old printer. I place an old frying pan without a handle under the dripping fat. I place the frying pan on a lamp stand.
I cover the lid and roast it over the fire. I tried smoking “kupaty”. It took 30 minutes.
Smoked on apricot chips. It was not easy to prepare them; I could barely cut them. Not all of them are burnt, you can leave them for another time.
I think the next step is to smoke the lard. I don’t photograph the finished product, so the result is clear. It is smoky and does not look photogenic.
