Extractor for fishing in 15 minutes
The fishing season has begun, but it often happens that the fish swallows the hook too deep, and getting it out without damaging the fish is very problematic. An extractor can help here - a device for removing the hook without harm to the fish.
What we need:
- Aluminum wire.
- Wooden stalk.
Making an extractor:
We start by straightening the wire, if necessary. We clamp the wire into the chuck of a drill or screwdriver, press it against the table with a block, turn on the drill and try to make it more or less even.
Next, if there is insulation on the wire, remove it with a knife. We get a clean and smooth metal rod.
Using a hammer or vice, flatten one end of the wire to a thickness of 1-2 millimeters.
Use a file or needle file to make a slot in the shape of the letter “V”. This completes the work with the metal part.
We begin making the handle. From the cutting we saw off a piece of a length that is comfortable for you, I sawed off about 10 centimeters.
We mark the center and drill a hole of the same diameter as the wire and a depth of 5-6 centimeters.
We remove all chips and irregularities with coarse sandpaper, smooth out the handle with finer sandpaper and give it the appearance of a finished product. Pour superglue into the hole and connect both parts together. And we get a ready-made fishing tool. If desired, the handle can be varnished or soaked in oil.
Such an extractor can be made in 15 minutes in the garage from scrap materials. It is very light and does not sink at all in the water, which is very important for fishing.
