Convenient brake shoe attachment for welding pipes at right angles

If you often have to weld profile pipes, then in order to speed up the process as much as possible and achieve precise observance of the right angle, it is worth making the following device. When using it, the pipes will not resist welding, so every connection will be perfect.

Materials:

• profile pipes;
  
• corner;
  
• brake shoe;
  
• Sheet steel;
  
• regular and extended M10 nuts;
  
• M10 stud.

Manufacturing process

It is necessary to weld a section of profile pipe to the brake pad as in the photo.

A square base for the fixture is then cut from sheet steel. Its size depends on the block used, but in most cases 40x40 cm, or even less, is sufficient.


2 stops are welded to the base from one corner. These can be corners or a profile pipe cut lengthwise. It is important that there are 90 degrees between them. The stops are welded with a gap in the corner.



Next you need to make a clamp. It consists of a stud screwed into nuts, which are welded to the base through a spacer. The heel is located diagonally relative to the sole.


At the point where it rests on the block profile, you need to cut out the wall so that the pin does not slide. On the reverse side, a knob is made on it.


To use the device, you need to install 2 pipes under its stops and press them with a block by screwing in the pin. The workpieces clamped in this way will not move during welding, and the angle between them will be strictly 90 degrees.
