“Murmansk lard” or spicy lightly salted marinated mackerel
If you like spicy lightly salted fish, then be sure to try this recipe. Mackerel prepared in this way is perfectly stored in the freezer, and when cut, it thaws literally in minutes, so you can eat it right away, even after a month.
Ingredients:
- mackerel – 2 pcs.;
- salt – 1 tsp;
- sugar – 0.5 tsp;
- garlic – 4 cloves;
- bay leaf – 4 pcs.;
- ground pepper – 0.5 tsp;
- ground coriander – 0.5 tsp.
The process of preparing lightly salted mackerel
First we cut off the fins and cut off the tail.
Mackerel is cut into fillets.
It is important to carefully remove all bones.
Next you need to salt it. To do this, sprinkle the fillet on both sides with a mixture of salt and sugar.
Then it is rubbed with grated garlic.
Top the fillet with a mixture of pepper, coriander and finely chopped bay leaves.
Then the pieces are stacked in pairs on top of each other and tightly wrapped with cling film.
The wrapped fish should be salted for 3 hours at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator.
After this, it needs to be frozen in the freezer for 2-3 hours, and the dish is ready to eat.
Frozen mackerel is cut into thin slices.At room temperature they will heat up very quickly and become soft. This dish goes great with boiled potatoes, or you can eat it simply with bread.
