How to make eternal flip flops from an old tire
Motorcycle or car tires can be used to make virtually indestructible homemade flip-flops. It’s not easy to do them the first time, but with experience it will take less and less time.
Materials:
- old tire;
- glue for rubber;
- short nails.
The process of making slippers
To sew flip flops, you will need part of the tire tread. Ideally, use a motorcycle tire as it is smooth.
You need to cut 2 soles from it. To do this, you can outline the left and right factory slap.
To cut the soles as accurately as possible, it is better to hammer the blade from a mounting knife into the end of the board and cut with it.
The edge on the soles is removed, and the tread is cut with a razor blade bent in half.
On the side, transverse holes are cut into them with a knife to insert straps that secure the slippers on the foot. You also need to pierce the sole on the toe side to insert the strap between the big and middle toes.
2 central straps are cut from the tire. On the one hand, they are made thin and smooth so as not to rub the foot between the toes. From the wide edge, wide holes are cut into them for transverse straps.
Cross straps are passed through the hole in the central straps. Then their thin edges are inserted into a puncture in the toe of the sole. The ends need to be glued and nailed. Then the transverse straps are also fixed in the side holes of the sole. Their height can be adjusted to fit your feet. To attach them, you will need to drive 2-3 nails on each side.
Hammered nails need to be bent on the back. Then you need to nail the heel from another layer of tire to the slippers. This will make it more comfortable to walk in them.
