How to make a garden flowerpot from motorcycle tires
Old used motorcycle tires are an excellent raw material for recycling. At home, they can be used to make outdoor flower pots. They are made with a minimal set of tools.
What you will need:
- assembly knife with spare blades;
- nails;
- motorcycle tires;
- dye.
Flowerpot making process
The first step is to make a holder for the knife blade to cut the tires into strips.
It is installed on a block or board. After this, the sidewalls of the tire are cut off by hand.
Then their central part blooms into ribbons. You can adjust their width by driving a nail in front of the blade, creating the required gap.
The prepared tapes need to be made thinner. To do this, the stopper nail is driven closer. Then the ribbons are unraveled in half in thickness.
Next, you need to turn out one tire, having first cut off one of its rims.
Then, from the cut side, triangles are cut around its circumference.
Another tire is turned out in the same way, but without cutting the decors.
Next, the tapes are nailed to the sidewall of the tire using regular short nails. After this, more ribbons are woven at right angles and also nailed. The nails on the reverse side are bent.
First, a regular inverted tire is nailed to the sidewall with tapes, then with triangles. After this, paint is applied on top. After it dries, the pot can be filled with soil and plants can be planted.
