Homemade powerful drill with a milling base
The RS-550 electric motor is used in various cordless tools, even from very well-known brands such as Makita. This is clear evidence that homemade products made on its basis will have high-level performance. From this motor you can assemble a very simple, but powerful and reliable drill.

The process of making a drill
You need to make a drill body from a piece of 40 mm plastic pipe. The engine fits perfectly into it, since its diameter is 35 mm.
The pipe is taken with a reserve so that it can also accommodate a speed controller, a connector for the power supply and a switch. A ventilation hole is immediately cut in it.
You need to make cuts at the end of the pipe, warm them up and bend them to screw the engine.
A drill chuck is installed on the motor shaft.
On the reverse side, you need to screw 3 blocks into the pipe, on which the lid will then be installed. To prevent them from dangling, you can also glue them in.
A plug for the body of the drill is cut out of sheet plastic. You need to embed a speed controller, a connector for connecting the power supply, and, if desired, a power button into it. The equipment is installed and soldered. The lid itself is screwed to wooden mortgages.
The result is a lightweight, powerful drill with variable speed control.
You can also make a milling base for it. It consists of 2 plywood glued together at right angles, reinforced on the sides with gussets.
A cut is made in the base base. Above it is a drill. To do this, 2 slats are attached to the base, to which the engine is pressed with a clamp cut from tin.
By loosening the clamp, you can adjust the overhang of the installed cutter. Such a tool is incomparable with a full-size router, but with light, small equipment it can do anything.
