How to make a jack to instantly lift a car
Users of screw and hydraulic jacks are familiar with the process of using them. You literally have to lie down under the car to get them under and lift them up. Having made such a jack, you can lift the car in a second, without lying down or squatting.
Materials:
- 3/4 inch pipe;
- profile pipe 20x20 mm;
- strip 15 mm;
- threaded rod M14;
- wheels without bracket 80 mm – 2 pcs.;
- casters for sofa 35-50 mm – 2 pcs.
Jack manufacturing process
To make the jack's thrust pad, you need to cut a 90 mm long piece of 3/4 inch pipe lengthwise.
A section of profile pipe is welded into the center at a right angle to one of the halves. Its length should be the height to which the car needs to be raised.
To this part it is necessary to weld another section of profile pipe 25-30 cm parallel to the loose half. This assembly will be subject to bending loads, so it must be reinforced or made from thick-walled pipe. If it is thin, then a 15x15 mm tube can be inserted inside.
A lever made of a profile pipe, cut at 45 degrees, is welded to the resulting part.Its length should reach slightly above the jack user's waist. To strengthen the lever, 2 jibs from the strip are welded.
A piece of pipe is welded to the edge of the lever to create a T-shaped handle. A 20 cm crossbar is welded at the bottom. A pin is inserted into the reinforced tube, which will serve as an axle for the wheels.
The jack is painted.
Wheels are installed on the axle. They are tightened with nuts, but in such a way as to retain the ability to rotate. On the crossbar above, you need to screw furniture casters.
To use the jack, you need to place a support platform under the car, and rest your foot on the crossbar, pull the lever towards you.
This requires a minimum of effort and just a couple of seconds of time. To remove it and lower the car, it rises.
