How to make a soldering nozzle for a gas torch
Soldering sometimes has to be done in places without an electrical outlet within reach. In this case, you can make a special nozzle for the gas burner. With it, electricity is not required for soldering.
Materials
- A tube;
- blank for turning;
- copper or brass rod 4-8 mm;
- M3 screws – 2 pcs.
Nozzle manufacturing process
A pipe section of 70-100 mm needs to be trimmed evenly and perforations made in it, leaving a quarter of the length intact.
For this, a tube is used that can fit tightly onto an existing gas burner.
A plug is machined from a metal blank for a tube with a hole in the center for inserting a soldering iron tip.
On the side it is drilled in two places for threading.
This is necessary to screw the plug to the perforated tube, and at the same time press the tip in the center.
By installing this nozzle on the burner, you can heat its tip with a flame.
The result is a soldering iron that is completely independent of the mains. The heating power is regulated by the gas supply, as well as by the projection of the tip.
