How to get rid of weeds between paving slabs cheaply, environmentally friendly and without stress
Weeds appear in the cracks between paving slabs. They not only spoil the appearance of the paths, but also destroy them. The roots of plants undermine the tiles, as a result of which they begin to protrude upward, sometimes even cracking. In this regard, weeds must be dealt with as soon as they appear.
What you will need:
- Brush or broom;
- salt;
- water.
Process of weed control on paving slabs
The first step is to sweep the paths very well, trying to remove all dirt and dust from the surface of the tiles, as well as the seams between them. After this, regular table salt crumbles.
It is necessary to generously powder the path.
Next, using the same brush or broom, you need to sweep the salt into the cracks between the tiles. If they turn white, then there is enough salt.
After distributing the salt, the paths are watered with a garden hose or watering can. It is best to pour water in a spray mode so that the salt is not washed away, and it is gradually absorbed between the tiles.
After a few days, all the vegetation between the tiles will dry out.
It will be easy to remove. If you wait a little, it will become very dry and brittle, so most of the weeds can literally be swept away with a broom. Nothing will grow in the cracks after this treatment for a long time.
Since the water was poured in little by little, the salt does not spread beyond the paths and does not poison the cultivated plants in neighboring flower beds or beds.
