How to make a sealant gun for a screwdriver from a PVC pipe

If you use sealants often and a lot, then you are well aware of the fatigue in your hand from constantly squeezing the gun lever. It will be much more convenient if it is not a simple mechanical one, but an electric one driven by a screwdriver. In this case, the sealant can be squeezed out when the button is pressed. You can make such an improved pistol with your own hands.

Materials:

Plastic pipe 50 mm;
M8 threaded rod;
wide plastic nut M8;
Belleville pressure washer.

The process of making a sealant gun

You will need a piece of plastic pipe that is 50-60 mm longer than the tube with sealant. The ends of the workpiece are treated from burrs with sandpaper. Then it must be cut lengthwise with two cuts, removing a strip 30 mm wide.

The edges of the resulting gutter must be aligned in order to place the tube with sealant inside. To do this, they are smoothed with a regular iron through a cloth, so as not to spoil its sole.

At one end of the workpiece it is necessary to cut out small notches 10 mm high.Then sealant is placed in the gutter, and the notches are bent with an iron inward onto it.

On the back side of the gutter, 3 larger notches are made, but not for the entire remaining excess length of the workpiece relative to the sealant. A gap of 20 mm should be left. They need to be bent inward in the same way.

A plastic nut with M8 thread is screwed to the large notches with two screws.

A window is then cut into the chute to push the tube out of the gun after use.

A threaded rod is screwed into a plastic nut. Its length should be slightly longer than the body itself. Inside the gutter, a thrust washer is placed on its end. Then the sealant itself is inserted.

Now if you clamp the free edge of the pin into the drill chuck, then when it rotates it will push out the sealant. If a screwdriver or drill has a speed controller, then you will be able to very accurately dose the output of silicone, liquid nails, etc. It is much easier and faster to work with such a gun.
