How to switch plastic windows to winter mode
All plastic windows provide for adjustment of the sash closing density. In winter mode it is completely adjacent to the seal, and in summer mode it is applied with a gap to allow fresh air to enter from the street. If, with the onset of cold weather, you do not adjust the closing tightly, then there will be a draft from the window.
The process of rearranging windows from summer to winter mode
To adjust, you need to open the sash and look at it from the side. It has eccentrics (trunnions), which are responsible for the tight fit to the sealing gum.
They need to be turned with a notch into the room, which will reduce the gap when closing.
Depending on the height of the window or plastic door, the sash may have 2-4 pins on each side.
Their location can be determined by the counter clamps attached to the frame. Most often, a 4 mm hex wrench is used to turn the eccentrics. There are also trunnions for a screwdriver.
Subsequently in the spring, the trunnions are turned with the notch up or down to move the clamp to an intermediate position. In summer, they should be turned with a notch towards the street.
There are also eccentrics without a hole for a hexagon or screwdriver. To rotate, you need to pull them towards you with your fingers. In the windows of this company, the trunnion has an oval shape. It can be twisted with pliers. In a horizontal position it is winter mode, and in a vertical position it is summer mode. By installing them diagonally, we get the average clamping force for spring or autumn.
After setting the position of the eccentrics to winter mode, you can immediately feel that the sash closing handle turns with greater effort, as the rubber bands are compressed more tightly. In summer, on the contrary, it rotates more easily.
