Laptop case
A laptop is not only an expensive piece of equipment, but also quite capricious. To protect it you need special “clothes”, that is, a cover. It will protect your device from dust, scratches, temperature effects and other troubles.
Many women are good at making a wide variety of things with their own hands. present. But not all men are able to appreciate their skill and are quite skeptical about things of this kind. But we are sure that a laptop case, sewn with love with your own hands, will not leave even the most inveterate skeptic indifferent.
Of course, you can buy a cover. But making it yourself from a variety of materials is much more pleasant. Today we will sew an envelope case from fabric.
To make such a necessary item the following were used:
- black drape;
- colored cotton fabric for lining;
- a piece of gray drape for a pocket;
- Velcro tape for fastening;
- a piece of red felt for decoration.
Stages of work:
1. We measure the dimensions of our laptop. To do this, fold the fabric (black drape) in half and draw a rectangle of the main part in accordance with the measurements taken. For the valve on the bottom layer of fabric, add another 8-10 cm on top.We allow an allowance of 1-1.5 cm on the sides and 3-4 cm in the top and bottom parts. We cut out the resulting workpiece.
2. From the lining fabric, cut out a rectangle of the same size, but without allowances at the top and bottom. We cut out a pocket from a gray drape. Its width is equal to the width of the main part, the height is at your discretion. The top of the pocket can be folded or the edge can be trimmed with zigzag scissors.
3. Attach the pocket to the front wall of our case. You can first make a fold at the bottom of the pocket to give it more volume.
4. We fold the lining fabric and the main part with the wrong sides together, wrap the drape over the lining at the top and bottom for 3-4 cm of hems. We sew the sides by 0.5 cm, the top and bottom parts by 2-3 cm, respectively.
5. We bend the resulting “sandwich” with the lining facing out and sew the lower corners of our envelope diagonally. We cut off the corners, leaving an allowance of 0.5 cm.
6. Sew pieces of Velcro tape to the flap and front wall of the envelope.
7. Fold the envelope with the lining inward and sew off the side parts.
8. We cut out strips of bias tape from the lining fabric, each 3-4 cm wide, and use them to process the right and left edges of the laptop case.
9. All that remains is to attach the felt decoration to the valve with hot glue (you can stitch it beautifully if your assistant, a sewing machine, is capable of this operation).
The original laptop case is ready. It is sewn with your own hands, therefore, as an exclusive item, it will be especially appreciated by a loved one and as a gift to friends.
In terms of design and beauty, the case is not inferior to a ready-made one purchased in a special store.
