Hair band “Red Carnation”
To decorate a schoolgirl’s hairstyle for a holiday party with a charming and unique bow, all you need to do is spend one evening creating a luxurious “Red Carnation” elastic band.
To create it you will need:
- pink hair elastic.
- scissors.
- leaves for decorating the flower.
- a large bead in the form of a lilac crystal.
- glue gun.
- a circle with a diameter of 5 cm made of green satin ribbon.
- rectangles measuring 5x5.5 cm from scarlet satin ribbon, 15 parts.
- rectangles measuring 5x6.5 cm made of scarlet satin ribbon, 20 parts.
- lighter.
Assembling the decoration.
All petals are created in the same way. The rectangular piece is placed face down and short side up on the table. Now at the top side you need to bend both corners to the middle of the part.
Holding the part in this position, it must be folded in half along its entire length.
And when folded, you need to carefully burn the bent upper corners, and you need to solder them together with the fold. This should be done carefully so as not to burn the fabric.
This is necessary to obtain a small fold on the front side of the part.It will give the petal a bend at the top.
Now you need to shape the bottom of the petal; to do this, the part should be folded in half to mark the middle of the bottom side. Now you need to bend the corner to the fold.
Holding the petal in the fold, fold the corner from the second side to the middle.
Now the folded lower section must be carefully burned with a flame to solder the material.
Now the petal is ready, the remaining rectangles should be folded into the same parts. At the end of the assembly of petals there will be two types, large and small.
Next, small petals should be attached to the crystal-shaped bead using glue.
All 15 small petals should be secured one at a time, evenly distributing them in a circle.
After this, it is necessary to glue larger petals in the same way. Thanks to the long petals, the flower will turn out to be blooming and lush. When all the petals are secured, the bud should be supplemented with green leaves.
Now you need to glue the prepared green circle to the bottom of the flower, which will cover all the joints and seams.
It remains to attach a hair elastic in the center of the fixed circle.
To hide the junction of the elastic band and the base of the flower, it needs to be sealed with a curved piece of green fabric.
At this point, the work on creating the decoration is finished, it is ready!
