Hair band “Terry aster”
To make this hair decoration you will need:
- dark blue hair tie.
- a circle of lilac felt with a diameter of 4.8 cm.
- lighter.
- three shades of satin ribbon 25 mm wide: siren, fuchsia and violet.
- scissors.
- heat gun with spare silicone rod.
- ruler.
- lilac cabochon with a diameter of 12 mm.
Making a flower.
The flower consists of two rows of petals. Each row is assembled from individual petals. And all the petals consist of several layers of three different shades of ribbons.
You should start creating petals by preparing all the necessary pieces of ribbon. Each shade of ribbon will have a different length.
The result should be 18 pieces of each ribbon color. Then you need to make petals from the resulting blanks. To do this, you need to take one piece in your hands and turn it face up.
Now it needs to be folded, dividing its length in half.
The resulting fold must be pressed with your fingers to make the line clearer and smoother. Then the right corner should be folded to the center of this line.
Holding the corner with your finger, you need to repeat the action on the other side.
The result was a pointed top. You need to apply a drop of glue to it from the wrong side.
And immediately bend it to the wrong side and press it with your fingers until the glue has cooled.
From the front side the petal will look like in the photo.
The lower sections are temporarily left unprocessed. From all other segments you need to make similar blanks, only their sizes and shades will differ.
When all the parts are ready, you can start assembling the petals.
Flower petals consist of several layers, so they need to be connected gradually. First you need a purple blank. It needs to be placed with the cuts facing down.
Then you need to apply a fuchsia detail on it. It is necessary to combine the lower sections. The result will be a small distance between the tops of the workpieces, equal to 3 mm.
And the final layer will be a blank made of lilac ribbon, the cut of which must also be combined with the rest. It turns out to be a transition from a dark shade to a light one.
Holding all the layers together, fold the sections in half, leaving the lilac ribbon on the inside of the piece.
Having eliminated possible irregularities with scissors, the sections must be scorched in order to completely melt each of their layers.
The result is a multi-layered three-color petal.
For a terry aster you will need 18 such petals. They need to be made in the same way as the first petal.
Now you can start connecting the parts. For the first row you will need 7 parts that need to be glued together, placing glue along their sides.
7 petals will form a neat circle, which can be set aside temporarily while continuing to work with the remaining petals.
Next you will need a felt circle, it will serve as the base for the flower.
Carefully applying glue to the lower edge of the petals, they need to be gradually attached along the cut of the circle.
Leaving an even distance between the petals, you need to attach them all to the base.
The second row of the flower is ready. Next you will need a set aside flower. Its lower part should be greased with glue and attached in the center of the second row of petals.
On the wrong side of the flower, focusing on the center of the felt circle, you need to secure the hair elastic using a little glue.
On the front side, the middle of the first row of petals must be closed by attaching a lilac cabochon.
