Of course, all children love Stuffed Toys, and loving parents give them to their children. But, unfortunately, low-quality products that have a negative impact on the health of the child are increasingly appearing on store shelves. Caring mothers are increasingly giving preference to hand-sewn toys; they are not only environmentally friendly, but can also be educational. Let's try to sew a funny cartoon cat, while playing with it your tactile sensations will develop.
You need to start with a pattern. You can draw it yourself or print it ready-made.
Next you need to choose the fabric. When choosing, you should give preference to high-quality, natural fabric, and its color and color should not be dark enough or too colorful.
When you have decided on the fabric and pattern, you can start making blanks.
Having cut out all the elements of the pattern, we secure it with pins to the fabric and trace it along the contour. We carry out this operation for all parts of the pattern. Do not forget about the required quantity of each part (it is indicated on the pattern).
Then we remove the pattern from the fabric and cut out each element, retreating a few millimeters from the line for the seam.
Having made the blanks, you can start sewing. You can sew the parts by hand or using a sewing machine (I did it by hand) from the wrong side. Threads can be matched to the fabric, or brighter colors can be used to dilute the tone.
When sewing the legs of the toy elements, it is worth considering that you need to leave a hole in order to turn them right side out and fill them with filler.
The filling can be: cotton wool or padding polyester for the head and tail, and fill the body and legs with buckwheat porridge or millet, this gives children the opportunity to feel the grains with their hands while playing and develop motor skills.
And in order for the tail to hold, we will install a wire in it, which for safety we will wrap in several balls with tape or tape (to avoid injury if the toy suddenly breaks).
When all the blanks are ready, you can safely fill them with filler and sew them into a finished toy and start decorating it.
You can buy ready-made eyes or use 2 buttons, as in my case, for beauty I put 2 blue dots on them with nail polish. The spout is made of fabric and filled with cotton wool for volume. The antennae are made of thread. As a decoration, you can sew a scarf or a bow, embroider various patterns on it or dress it up in a suit, this is a flight of your imagination.
