What to give for Valentine's Day? Sew a primitive bear with a heart
Please your loved ones with a handmade gift. This soft valentine bear is only 15 cm high and filled with love and kindness and will always remind you of you.
To make such a primitive gift, you will need a small piece of 100% cotton fabric measuring 30 x 15 cm. To make a heart, you will need an even smaller piece - approximately 15 x 15 cm. You can use a similar fabric, but in a contrasting shade. Fleece or felt will also work.
In this master class, pieces of fabric left over from previous sewing were used. Perhaps you will also have some, the main thing is that they are of good quality.
Fold the fabric in half, wrong sides facing each other. We place paper patterns (you can take them on the Internet or draw them yourself) on the material and trace them along the contour. Then we pin the fabric, but do not cut it. It is better to do this after sewing the blanks along the contour on a machine or by hand. Don’t forget to leave a small unstitched section (2 cm), which will be needed later for turning and stuffing.
After stitching the parts, cut off the excess fabric, departing from the stitching 3 mm. It is advisable to do this with zigzag scissors. But if they are not there, we use ordinary ones, but we make notches near the folds. We cut them very carefully, not reaching the line by 1 mm. You can play it safe and lightly coat these places with PVA glue.
Turn the parts right side out. The most convenient way to do this is with a sushi stick or pencil. Straighten all the corners and bends. If the part is wrinkled, smooth it out.
Then we fill the blanks with holofiber or padding polyester. We try to fill the body, paws and heart tightly, without the formation of folds and “cellulite”. The holes through which the parts were turned out and stuffed are sewn up with a hidden seam.
We sew the legs to the body, piercing it through with a large needle. Then we sew the heart to the inside of the paws. The Valentine bear is almost ready. All that remains is to draw eyes and a nose on the face and tie a bow made of satin ribbon around the neck.
In this way, you can make various primitive valentine animals, adding some kind of “zest” to them - a heart, a dress, a skirt, a bow, etc. It all depends on your imagination and desire.
