Denim skirt with embroidery
Denim fabric is universal and you can use it to make with your own hands both a fashionable item of clothing and a durable case for a tablet or phone (smartphone). You can buy the fabric, or you can take it from old denim clothes (for example, pants), saving money.
To work with my crafts, I take the bottom of old jeans. I choose additional decoration details according to my taste: you can take, for example, beads or rhinestones, or you can print them out.
I ended up with a skirt like this:
In order to sew a skirt, I needed fabric from old denim pants, which I cut in half (just above the knees), blue floss threads, a sewing needle, pinning needles, an elastic band, green and purple beads, rhinestones.
I cut each of the legs along the longitudinal side:
Next, I need to fold the top and bottom sides several times and pin them with needles. There should be an elastic band on the top side, so I make that side twice as wide. After that, I sew both pant legs at the sides:
I insert an elastic band into the upper side of the future skirt, after which I tighten the fabric and make seams:
Now I sew the seams from the bottom. This is what the resulting skirt looks like now:
I turn the skirt from the inside out to the right side and unfold it so that the section of fabric in which there is a pocket is on the side, and the side seam is exactly in the middle:
This is what the skirt looks like from the other side:
Next, the resulting skirt can be decorated with rhinestones or beads. I sew white shiny rhinestones onto the craft, and next to them I chalk out patterns for bead embroidery. I didn’t have regular chalk, so I use wax chalk:
The outlined patterns are not very noticeable on the craft. Having sewn rhinestones to the skirt, I take large yellow beads:
I sew these beads to the empty areas between the rhinestones, after which I embroider an image of beads in the form of flowers (roses) on the fabric. To do this, you can take light purple and green beads, and cotton threads (floss):
These are the flower shapes I got:
Next, I complemented the image with embroidery of a stem with leaves made of beads:
After the embroidery work is completed, my skirt will be ready:
This is what it will look like if you try it on:
Now that’s it, the jeans skirt with beaded and rhinestone embroidery is ready:
