Very tall and durable cat house
Make a big cat tree for your beloved pet. Cats love to climb up high and watch what's going on from their vantage point, so they'll definitely appreciate your efforts.
Gather everything you need
To build you will need:
- Pine boards and slats.
- Wooden and metal corners for shelves.
- Two types of rope.
- 3 euro pallets.
- Details of an old cat house.
- Light bulb and glass jar.
- Wooden box for beer.
- Lots of screws.
You will also need a jigsaw and a drill.
Sturdy pallet base
Cut 3 Euro pallets. Leave the supports and strips and connect them as shown in the photo and diagram using screws.
Adding floors
Place the wooden square in the center of the base and secure with screws. You will need another square of the same dimensions for the top of the tree.
Mark on a square the width of the wooden slats you plan to use as the vertical frame, and screw metal shelf corners into each corner as shown in the photo. Screw vertical slats to the corners, and on top of the floor for the next level of wood. This way you can make two more floors.
First floor: Make a square of wood the size of the square at the base and cut out the corners to attach it to the vertical slats. Install metal corners at each corner of the board, screwing them to the middle of the vertical wood strip.
Second floor (roof): Make another square and screw it to the ends of the slats.
House
To make a cozy shelter for your cat, you can use a part from a ready-made cat house.
Screw the house under the first floor.
scratching post
If you don't want your cat to scratch your furniture, be sure to complete this step.
To make a scratching post, wrap the vertical rail with rope and secure with screws.
You can also screw a ready-made scratching post purchased from a store to a tree.
Try making another scratching post out of cardboard and also attaching it to the structure.
steps
Take scrap wood and angles and make extra steps on the tree, screwing them where you like.
You can make a cat bed by attaching a beer crate to the side of a tree and placing some cozy bedding in it.
Lighting
Cats love to bask under a lamp when there is no sun, so you can add a lamp covered with a glass jar to the design.
Let the cat evaluate the result
This tree is suitable for both lazy relaxation and active games, especially when there are several pets. Scratching posts made of rope and wood will attract the cat's attention, and the furniture and carpets in the house will remain intact.
