Do-it-yourself mini jigsaw 3.7 V
For precise cutting of small pieces of wood, it is very convenient to use a jigsaw. They can cut thinner parts than using a manual jigsaw. In the factory version, it is often too bulky for a cramped workshop, so it is better to assemble it yourself. When using a motor from a cordless tool to drive it, you can make the machine independent of the electrical network.

A jigsaw file will be used as the cutting equipment of the machine. The shape of its shank is not suitable for this design, so it must be wrapped in sheet metal.

To do this, take a small piece of tin and trace the shank of a nail file on it. Then, using a drill with a diameter of 5-6 mm, you need to drill out the protrusions of the shank on the outlined contour. Next, the plate is cut along the edge of the holes using metal scissors. The edges of the perforation are bent 90 degrees, a nail file is placed between them, and they are bent further, clamping it.You also need to wrap the rest of the plate around the end of the shank.

The sole of the machine is made from a wide board or chipboard. A wooden stand is screwed onto it, matched to the size of the existing electric motor. The motor is located on it. The engine itself is screwed to the stand using a homemade tin mount.

A disk is cut out of plywood or board using a core drill. A tin lever is screwed to the edge with a self-tapping screw. The result is an eccentric for performing reciprocating motion. The disk is installed on the motor shaft and secured with reliable glue.

The lever on the eccentric is connected to the extended shank of the nail file. To do this, holes are made in them through which a screw and nut are threaded. To prevent them from unwinding, secure the threads with a drop of superglue.

Next, you need to measure the length from the sole of the machine to the beginning of the working part of the nail file. Based on these data, it is necessary to make side racks and a table top of a convenient size from the board. A cut is made in the tabletop to remove the nail file.

A blade guide made of bent tin is placed in the cut of the tabletop. Opposite it, on the back side of the nail file, a bearing is fixed. Together with the guide, it will prevent the blade from deflecting to the side.

After assembling the machine, it is necessary to lubricate its rubbing parts with oil for easier sliding. A 3.7V battery is used as a power source for the tool, if it is equipped with a battery-powered engine. Such a compact machine can be used for modeling or simply in a cramped workshop where there is no room for large purchased equipment.
