Recipe for delicious crispy cabbage pies
If you love store-bought fried pies, but you can’t make them yourself, then use this recipe. According to him, they are guaranteed to be perfect. Moreover, it is very simple to sculpt them this way.
Ingredients
Ingredients for the dough:
- boiling water – 250 ml;
- warm water - 250 ml;
- pressed yeast – 25 gr. (or 10 grams dry);
- salt – 1 tsp;
- sugar – 1 tsp;
- flour – 700 gr.;
- sunflower oil – 2 tbsp.
Filling ingredients:
- cabbage – 500 gr.;
- carrots – 200 gr.;
- onion – 1 pc.;
- tomato paste – 2 tbsp;
- salt and spices to taste.
The process of making pies
Fill a container with a glass of boiling water and add 4-5 tbsp. flour. Knead the choux pastry and leave it to cool for 5 minutes.
Next add warm water, salt, sugar and yeast.
After the yeast has dissolved, add the remaining flour.
Pour 2 tbsp onto the kneaded dough. sunflower oil, and mix it again. Then set it aside for 40 minutes in a warm place and cover.
At this time, pour chopped onions, grated carrots and shredded cabbage into a frying pan with vegetable oil.You need to simmer them under a closed lid for 2 minutes until they soften. Next add tomato paste and spices. In 10-15 minutes the filling will be ready.
Divide the ripe dough into 12 parts. Roll each piece into a ball. They need to be lubricated with oil and covered with film to prevent them from weathering.
One by one, the pieces are rolled out with a rolling pin. Then place the cooled or warm, but not hot, filling on the dough. The pies are wrapped in a tube. The dough sticks together at the edges.
The molded pies should be covered with film for 10 minutes to allow the dough to rise again. You need to fry over high heat in a large amount of preheated oil.
Place the finished pies on napkins to remove excess fat.
