What you will need:

• plastic container;
• hydrochloric acid 31-35%;
• container with water;
• paper towels or dry rags.

The process of removing rust with hydrochloric acid

Hydrochloric acid is collected in a plastic container of a suitable size, and the metal part that needs to be cleaned is dipped into it. It is optimal to carry out work in the fresh air or under a powerful hood, since it is better not to inhale the fumes released during this process. It is very good if the container has a lid. Dissolving corrosion will only take a few minutes, even on very rusty surfaces. Periodically, the part needs to be turned over, since the side laid on the bottom is etched worse.You should not hold the product for more than a couple of minutes, as the acid will begin to dissolve the already pure metal. The part should only be touched with tongs or pliers. As the rust dissolves, the acid will begin to turn brown. Next, the part is removed and dipped in clean water to wash off any remaining acid. Then you need to wipe it very well so that rust does not appear again. Acids should be covered immediately or poured back into the canister as they will evaporate.
