How to make a touch lamp for a workshop from PVC pipe

This lamp will make your life very easy both in the workshop and in other dark rooms such as a closet. Turns on and off with one touch, has bright light and long run time. Powered by a common 18650 series battery.

• A piece of PVC pipe 70 mm.

Making a touch lamp from PVC pipe with your own hands

A piece of PVC pipe is inserted into the spacer of wooden slats and heated with a hair dryer until the plastic softens.

As a result, the round piece turns into a rectangular one.

Let's assemble a diagram of the device. Let's take the sensor module and check the absence of jumper “A” and the presence of jumper “B” on the board. If they are the other way around, replace them with a soldering iron. This procedure is needed to fix the output signal from the module.

The module is connected very simply using 3 contacts: power supply on the sides, logical state output in the center. We will assemble a key on the transistor for switching the LED strip. Solder the transistor directly to the board.

Solder the resistor.

We solder the wires from the LED strip through the transistor and power from the battery. We install the battery in the box and check the operation.

When you touch the sensor, the LED bar turns on. And it also turns off when touched again.

We drill a hole in the side of the case for the sensor.

We cut windows for the battery holder and Light-emitting diode. Cut out the side plugs. We install all the filling inside the body and glue it.

We close all the elements and paint the body with spray paint black.

The lamp is ready. Install the battery into the holder.

We place it under the shelf. Just touch it and the light will turn on, resulting in a perfectly illuminated place.

Several such lamps can be made and placed in all places where short-term illumination is needed.
