Tutu skirt for girls
All little girls dream of being princesses. And even if you don’t know how to sew at all, you can easily make this childhood dream come true by making a fluffy and beautiful skirt for your baby. It will take very little time, and the joy on the child’s face from receiving such a wonderful gift will more than repay all your efforts.
In order to make a tutu skirt, we will need (Measurements are taken based on the length of the skirt 25 cm. When making a longer skirt, the amount of tulle used must be increased.):
- tulle 2 m x 1.5 m (1 m - white, 0.5 m red, 0.5 m - pink);
- scissors;
- threads;
- needle;
- an elastic band with a width of at least 2.5 cm (in order to correctly determine the required length of the elastic, we measure the child’s waist and subtract 2 cm from the resulting value);
1. Take pieces of tulle and cut them into strips. The width of the stripes is 25 cm, the length is 50 cm.
2. Sew the elastic. We put it on the legs or the back of a chair and start assembling our tutu skirt.
3. Take a strip of red tulle and tie it with an elastic band (the elastic band should under no circumstances be overtightened, otherwise it will fold and twist when worn).
4. We tie the ends of the strip one more time to form a strong knot.
5. In this way we tie all subsequent strips of tulle, alternating colored stripes with white ones, to create the desired pattern. For this skirt, tulle strips were taken in the following sequence:
- 1 red stripe;
- 1 pink stripe;
- 1 red stripe;
- 5 white stripes.
6. We tie the tulle strips, moving them tightly towards each other until there is no space left on the elastic. The more strips of tulle you use, the more fluffy the skirt will be.
7. Remove the skirt from the chair legs and evenly straighten all the tulle strips along the elastic.
8. Now our tutu skirt is completely ready to delight its little owner.
