How to assemble an electric drive for a hydraulic jack from a windshield wiper
When using a hydraulic jack frequently, it becomes very annoying to pump its lever to lift the car. To avoid doing this manually, you can install an electric drive on it. To do this, you just need a working motor from the wipers.
Materials:
- Wiper motor;
- hydraulic jack;
- pipe 50 mm;
- M10 wing bolt;
- nuts M10 – 2 pcs.;
- furniture hinge;
- rod 10 mm;
- strip 20 mm;
- sheet steel 4 mm.
Manufacturing process of an electric jack
From a pipe with a diameter of 50 mm you need to cut a ring 30-40 mm wide and cut it in half.
The halves are used to make a clamp for the windshield wiper motor. A nut is welded to their edges in order to tighten them with a wing bolt. On the other side, a furniture hinge is welded.
A guide made from two rods is welded to the jack lever. A gap of 10 mm is made between them. 2 strips are welded to its body. A clamp is welded onto their edge to mount the engine.
A flywheel with a diameter of 80-100 mm with two holes is drilled out of sheet steel using a core drill. One is done in the center, the second is done closer to the edge.The flywheel is installed on the motor shaft.
A bolt is clamped into the second hole of the flywheel, the edge of which must be brought into the guide. Now, when power is supplied to the engine from the battery, the lever will pump the jack cylinder.
If the lifting speed is slow, then you need to increase the diameter of the flywheel or weld the clamp closer to the jack body, which will increase the amplitude of the lever stroke and, accordingly, the pumping performance.
