How to make a 220 V generator from transformers
Few people know that you can assemble a 220 V electric generator with your own hands. It's not as difficult as it might seem. You can make such a device at home using readily available parts.
Materials:
- W-shaped plates for the transformer core;
- frames for transformer coils – 2 pcs.;
- enameled copper wire 0.6 mm;
- insulating tape;
- magnets 50x10x5 mm – 12 pcs. -
- bearings 8x22x7 mm – 2 pcs. -
- M12 pin;
- M12 nuts – 2 pcs.
Electric generator manufacturing process
It is necessary to prepare 2 frames for the transformer coils, and wind 1000 turns of enameled copper wire with a diameter of 0.6 mm on them.
The edges of the windings need to be moved to the side. After this, you need to insulate the windings. The resulting coils are assembled with cores from W-shaped plates.
Next, you need to make a rotor drum on which permanent magnets will be placed. It can be printed on a 3D printer or turned on a lathe from a plastic blank or other lightweight material.It is necessary to provide 6 cavities on the workpiece for gluing neodymium magnets.
As a drum shaft, you can use a pin machined along the edges for bearings. This will allow you to secure the shaft with nuts.
6 pairs of neodymium magnets are glued into the resulting rotor. It is important to alternate polarity between pairs.
Next, you need to select or print a housing on the feet for the bearings. This is needed to mount the rotor. Bearings are pressed into the housings and then placed on the rotor shaft.
The rotor with bearings is screwed to the frame. This could be a board, a piece of plywood, or laminate.
Coils with cores are glued to the sides on the sole. The gap from them to the rotor should be minimal. You can display it by substituting cardboard.
To use the generator, you need to connect one output of the coils to each other.
When the rotor is untwisted, the 220 V voltage can be removed from the remaining two wires. The ideal drive for such a generator would be a two-stroke gasoline engine.
