How to make a device for chopping large quantities of cabbage
Shredding cabbage is not a difficult, but lengthy process. If you prepare winter preparations from it or ferment it in a barrel, then grinding may take a couple of hours. In this case, take an hour and make a mechanical cabbage shredder. With it you can cut hundreds of kilograms of cabbage with minimal effort and waste of time.
Materials:
- Board;
- aluminum pipe 20 mm;
- steel pipe 15-18 mm;
- profile pipe 20x20 mm;
- rod 10 mm;
- strip 20 mm.
Shredder manufacturing process
The working platform of the shredder is made of a board measuring approximately 30x30 cm. You can simply take a wooden cutting board. It is drilled in the corners to the diameter of the aluminum tube.
Aluminum tubes 40 cm long are inserted into the holes. They need to be aligned in the center. Then self-tapping screws are screwed into the corners of the board to secure the position of the legs.
2 L-shaped knife blanks are cut from sheet steel. They need to be sharpened and drilled.
The blades twist together. Corners are installed on them at the edge.
A bevel cut is made on a previously made table.To do this, you can rotate the sole of the jigsaw.
Knives are screwed onto the cut from above. The corners allow it to be pressed onto the board from the side.
Thinner steel tubes, 22 cm long, are placed in aluminum tubes. Drilled profile pipes are put on them and welded. Then a jumper with a hole in the center is welded between them.
A washer is cut from sheet steel. It needs to be drilled crosswise and galvanized screws welded into the holes. Next, a knob is made from the strip and rod, onto the edge of which a washer is welded.
Thus, the screws allow you to drive the knob into the head of the cabbage. Now, when rotating, it will be chopped with a knife and collected in a container under the table.
