4 ways to freeze raw beets for the winter
Frozen beets for the winter are a wonderful and convenient preparation that can be used for preparing first and second courses without defrosting them. The main thing is that the beets are frozen in small portions and one container or bag is enough for one dish. In this recipe we will look at several ways to freeze vegetables: whole, cubes, cubes and large strips.
For freezing you will need:
- unlimited quantities of beets
- plastic bags or special freezer bags
- disposable plastic containers
Freezing instructions with step-by-step photos:
1. Select small root vegetables with smooth skin. Cut off the stems and tops, rinse with water and peel.
2. Place the small root vegetables whole in the bag and seal it tightly. Whole root vegetables, crushed in a blender, are suitable for dietary nutrition.
3. Cut larger root vegetables into medium cubes. We place them in disposable containers and close them. Frozen beets in chunks are perfect for seasoning borscht.
4. Cut the peeled beets into cubes and place them in containers. This preparation is suitable for vinaigrette and salad.
5. Using a grater for Korean salads, grate the vegetable into large strips. Place in plastic bags and seal tightly. This straw is suitable for soups and Korean salads.
6. Place the finished preparations with whole raw beets, cut into cubes, cubes and strips into the freezer. We defrost whole beets in the refrigerator on a shelf; the rest of the preparation can be used without defrosting.
