Snowflake made from scrap materials
Snow is swirling outside the window. Due to the white veil, the street became significantly lighter. The sky no longer seems so gray and the mood is gloomy. Winter has come - it's time to prepare for the New Year and Christmas.
You can’t live without paper crafts in winter. Children cut out openwork snowflakes, pictures - stencils depicting fir trees or bells, and glue multi-colored garlands. Homemade decorations are used to decorate rooms in a kindergarten or rooms at home. Shiny tinsel makes wonderful decorative elements, for example, stars, snowflakes or balls. The undeniable advantage of crafts made from scrap materials is that they hold their shape well.
Today we propose to make a snowflake up to 15 cm in size. For work you will need:
- silver or blue tinsel
- plastic yogurt cup
- scissors.
If the tinsel is based on a wire that does not hold its shape well, you should additionally prepare glue or a stapler to fix the edges crafts.

We don't have any wire at home to make a snowflake frame from, so we decided to experiment with yogurt cups. I must say, successfully.
So, let's arm ourselves with scissors. The task at the first stage is to remove the hard top of the glass and cut out eight rays from plastic, four of which have two branches. We don't touch the bottom.

The picture clearly shows the result of correctly performing the actions.

As a result, we should get the following frame for the craft - a round center with 8 rays.

Next, we take the tinsel in our hands and wrap the plastic parts in a spiral. It is better to start work from the base (circle) of the craft, gradually moving to the top of the first ray, and then back to the middle.

At the next stage, we move on to the second ray.

I would like to note that the direction and frequency of turns of tinsel on plastic do not matter. The main thing is that the rows fit tightly one to another.

If necessary, the tinsel at the tops of the beams can be folded and fixed with a stapler. However, I repeat, the tape is based on a soft wire that perfectly holds the bends without additional fastenings.

To make one snowflake, we needed one ribbon of tinsel 3 m long without any residue.

The end of the work came in the middle of the craft. Once again we didn't have to use glue. We hid the edge of the tinsel under one of the rays.

To summarize the event - a plastic cup and tinsel made an excellent eight-pointed snowflake.

This decoration cannot be used as a Christmas tree decoration (the size of the product is too large). But hanging a snowflake on the wall is the right decision.
It's time to say goodbye. We wish everyone fresh New Year's ideas, creativity and creative inspiration!
