How to Freeze Peppers to Save Refrigerator Space
In winter, more than ever, you want delicious, appetizing, satisfying and healthy dishes. They are easy to create by having various preparations in stock, which can easily be made for future use, even without having special cooking skills. All you need for this is high-quality, juicy, ripe and bright vegetables, special containers, ziplock bags and a freezer. This kind of freezing, unlike “whole” freezing, significantly saves space in your freezer.
Sweet paprika is an indispensable ingredient for various salads, sautés, borscht, soups, caviar and stews. It can be added to hot sandwiches, decorated with slices of bright pepper on sandwiches and holiday canapés. During the winter season, it is expensive and does not have as many beneficial properties as a product grown in the sun. Therefore, preparing paprika in the summer is a rational, correct decision that will help you not only save money, but also diversify your winter menu. For freezing, choose paprika of any variety, shade and shape. The main thing is that it is ripe, juicy and has high taste.
1. We rinse each ripe and bright fruit under water and place it on a napkin to remove as much moisture as possible from the surface of the pepper. This will allow us to create the perfect frozen product. For preparation, we can use both fruits of the same shade and multi-colored vegetables.
2. Cut off the “tail” of each paprika and remove the seed box. Repeat the process with all the peppers.
3. Divide the fruits into two parts. Shred them into strips.
4. Or in small cubes. It depends on the dish in which we plan to use the preparation.
5. Place the product in a suitable container and close with a lid. Place the pieces of sweet paprika in the refrigerator for storage.
We use pieces of frozen paprika at our discretion at any time.
