Quick pork belly recipes that will help you give up sausage
Large cut pork lard can be prepared in hundreds of different ways. Try these 2 recipes that make brisket better than store-bought sausage.
Brisket in the oven
For this recipe you will need the following ingredients:
- lard – 1 kg;
- salt – 2 tsp;
- spices for lard - 2 tsp;
- paprika – 2 tsp;
- ground coriander – 1 tsp;
- garlic - 6 teeth.
The washed and dried brisket is cut into long strips.
It is sprinkled with salt, ready-made lard spice, paprika, coriander and garlic squeezed through a press.
The pieces are rubbed with seasonings on all sides.
Each piece is placed separately in a baking sleeve and tied. The lard is laid out on a baking sheet, and the sleeve is pierced from above in several places.
The brisket is baked for 1 hour at 180°C.
Brisket with prunes
This recipe is suitable for those who do not have an oven. The brisket prepared using it will have a different taste, so it is worth preparing lard this way as well. Ingredients you will need:
- lard – 1 kg;
- salt – 2 tsp;
- paprika – 2 tsp;
- seasoning for meat – 2 tsp;
- ground black pepper – 1 tsp;
- garlic – 6 teeth;
- prunes – 10 pcs.;
- onion peel.
Long strips of lard are sprinkled with salt, wig, meat seasoning, black pepper and chopped garlic. Then the pieces are rubbed with spices.
The lard is placed on foil, regular or smoked prunes are added to it, as well as washed onion peels.
The pieces are wrapped in several layers of foil. They also need to be wrapped in cling film and placed in a plastic bag.
The bag is tied and placed in a pan of cold water. It is placed on the stove and brought to a boil. The lard is cooked over low heat for another 1.5 hours.
Once ready, it is removed but left in foil until it hardens.
