Naughty curtain for the garden and home
Do you want to update your interior, add colors and not spend a lot of money on it?! There is an exit! The decoration of any room will be a bright and original curtain or curtain, sewn by yourself. The unusual design and simplicity of execution, accessible even to a child, will allow you to quickly and with great interest “refresh” any interior. Such a curtain will serve as a real decoration for a country house. To make it you will need: 1) fabric (cotton, calico, crepe-satin); 2) scissors; 3) templates; 4) sewing machine; 5) sewing needles for fastening the material; 6) fabric pencil or soap. Are you ready? Let's begin!
1. First you need to prepare a template. Start with something simple – a circle, small in diameter. In the future, you can cut out butterflies, stars, hearts, etc.
It is important that if you decide on more complex figures, do not rush to make too many blanks. It may be better to make a few butterflies or stars on a curtain rather than a whole curtain of them.
2. Take a small piece of paper and fold it several times so that its height does not exceed the height of the template. Fasten the fabric with sewing needles and outline the pattern with a fabric pencil. It is important that if you are preparing blanks from crepe satin, or other slippery, very thin or dense material, then you should not fold the flap several times. It’s better to tinker with cutting longer than to ruin all the material at once!
3. Cut out the blanks. A little trick to prevent the edges of the fabric from unraveling, and your workpieces from showing too many flaws in the form of unevenness when cutting, use scissors with a zigzag blade. It will look very original!
4. Now we sew the blanks into ribbons on a sewing machine. The length of the tape is the length of your curtain. Remember, the evenness and clarity of the stitching is not important here, and a slight bend will give additional “torsion” in weight. Don't forget to make a loop for each strip if you don't have a ceiling cornice. There is no point in fastening the ribbons together, since all the irregularities during stitching will be evident; in extreme cases, you can sew together several rows closest to the loop.
Well, our curtain is ready! The color of the material, as you can see, can be any, but creativity will depend only on your imagination. The main thing is that such curtains are easy to make, which means they can be used for specific events. For example, New Year, Valentine's Day, birthday, etc.
