How to make the simplest grinder from a grinding machine

With the help of a simple attachment, a belt sander turns into a grinder. This kind of equipment is very easy to make in just a couple of hours. The beauty of the attachment is that there is no need to damage the tool, and the machine can always be removed to work with it as usual.

Grinder manufacturing process

The attachment is a box made of chipboard, which is mounted on the worktop. It is assembled using self-tapping screws and mounting angles.

The machine is attached to the wall using L-shaped pins that fit into holes in its body. This results in 4 reliable attachment points. The thrust table on the box is set at a right angle relative to the sole of the machine.

A hole is cut in the mounting wall for the cable entry of the machine with a plug. The support table must be made removable, as it will interfere with removing the machine. A window is cut out on the side of the box to provide access to the power button.
