An incredible recipe for making Uzbek flatbread on the stove without a tandoor or oven
This recipe is unique in that a tandoor or even an oven is not used to prepare the most delicious Uzbek flatbread. Baking is carried out in a large cauldron-type dish, or in a large aluminum pan with a concave lid. All actions take place directly on the gas stove.
Ingredients:
- 250 ml. warm water;
- 1 tsp Sahara;
- 1 tsp yeast;
- 500 gr. premium flour;
- 1.5 tsp. salt;
- 20 ml. vegetable oil;
- 1 egg;
- white sesame.
Preparation of Uzbek flatbread:
Pour warm water into a deep glass container, add sugar and dry yeast. Stir thoroughly and leave in a warm place for about 5 minutes.
Pour flour into another bowl, add salt and stir.
Make a small well in the flour and pour in the water, yeast and butter. Using a wooden spoon, stir the contents of the bowl and knead the dough.
Cover the container with the dough with cling film and place in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours.
When the dough has risen well, divide it into two equal parts. Roll each of them into a ball.
Place a cauldron or large saucepan on the stove and heat the lid on the fire.
Before baking, roll out the dough ball into a flat cake. This can be done easily by hand. Lubricate the bottom of the cake with clean water and place the workpiece on the lid of the cauldron. Lightly knead the cake with your hands again. Place the lid on the cauldron with the cake facing up. Lightly press down the middle of the dough and use a knife to make cuts in the center. Using a silicone brush, brush the entire surface of the pastry with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Turn the lid over with the flatbread down and cover the cauldron. The cake will end up inside the dish.
Bake the bread loaf over medium heat for 15 minutes. The flatbread turns out not only tasty, but also beautiful. Bake the second cake in the same way.
Using this simple baking recipe, you can make your dishes even tastier.
